Dinner Is Served

The lineup of world class chefs and sommeliers due to take part in Crystal Cruises’ Wine & Food Festival sailings for the fall have been announced. Passengers on half of the company’s worldwide tours and on four Panama Canal itineraries (aboard the Crystal Harmony) will be treated to the creations of masters such as Esquire magazine’s Chef of the Year, Guillermo Pernot (Pasion! in Philadelphia); Food & Wine magazine’s Best New Chef in America, Joseph Wrede (Joseph’s Table in New Mexico); Karl Edelbauer (Corporate Executive Chef for the Peabody Hotel Group); and Master Chef Alain Sailhac (Director, French Culinary Institute, New York City). On hand to match wines to these masters’ signature dishes will be Robin Kelley O’Connor, U.S. liaison for the Bordeaux Wine Bureau; Master Sommelier Jay Fletcher (Syzygy in Aspen, Colorado); Master Sommelier Ken Fredrickson (Terroir in Jackson Hole, Wyoming), and wine director Karen King (Union Square Cafe, New York City).

Cruisers will be treated to a four-course dinner and matching wines. Menus will feature appetizer, soup, salad or pasta, seafood and meat entrees, and dessert, served in the Crystal Dining Room. Other activities include cooking technique demonstrations by the guest master and question and answer periods where recipes and tips can be exchanged.
