  • "Freestyle Cruising!"
  • Hawaii cruise leader
  • Variety of ships & itineraries
Of all the major, mainstream cruise companies, Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) is the most distinctive. NCL, the world's fourth largest cruise line, has become the industry "innovator." While not all cruise lines have followed NCL's leads, many have since adjusted to the consumer trends and preferences NCL embraced first. Here are some of NCL's innovations:

More dining "freedom." NCL was the first major cruise line to offer total shipboard dining freedom. Dine when, where and with whom you like. Their ships offer up to ten distinct restaurants to choose from - far more than other ships their size.
More casual. NCL was the first major cruise line to loosen up on shipboard dress codes. "Resort casual" is the norm on most evenings in most restaurants. Selected restaurants offer formal options during your cruise. It's your choice.
More variety of ships. NCL's fleet ranges in size from medium to mega. Ships match their itineraries and offer a broad range of accommodation types and prices. Some ships feature distinctive "hull art" lending them instant recognition in port!
Distinctive itineraries. Thanks to the line's new "NCL America" division, NCL can now offer Hawaii Island hopping, East Coast cruising and California coastals. No other cruise line has them.
Simplified gratuities. NCL was the first to simplify the once-confusing shipboard tipping policies. Gratuities are added to your shipboard account automatically.
