 | For many vacationers, a cruise vacation is really their only chance to relax and unwind – their rare opportunity to spoil their senses. Holland America is very much ready to help! Whether it be the pillow-top mattresses and extra-large, extra-fluffy Egyptian cotton towels in guest’s staterooms; the top-notch quality of food and excellence of service in their restaurants, or their provision of a luxurious, seagoing spa that caters to Number One: you.

 | | Welcome to the Greenhouse Spa & Salon. It’s here where you’ll find Asian-inspired treatment rooms, dry float baths, thermal suites with a hydrotherapy pool, steam and aromatic steam room, sauna, couples massage rooms and heated ceramic loungers with endless views out to sea. Various packages allow you to pick and choose to please your body (and wallet). “Day Passes” are available for many facilities, as well. Life is good aboard the Maasdam.

 | | If you’re more into challenging your muscles than spoiling them, walk directly to the Gymnasium or Aerobics Room. Although the treadmills, stationary bikes and elliptical machines aren’t separated from the resistance machines and free weights, there’s usually room for every body who ventures in. The Aerobics Room offers Pilates, yoga, spinning and stretching classes (extra cost for these) but morning stretch and aerobics – often held poolside – are free.

 | A Beauty Salon is located here, too. Hair cuts and styling for men and women, as well as manicures, pedicures, facials and other treatments are available, of course.

 | Into Jogging? Four times around the promenade on the Lower Promenade Deck adds up to one mile, in case you’ve got to get in your daily jog, run or walk. Ping Pong and shuffleboard are maritime standbys, and the Sports Deck offers Paddle Tennis and a Sports Court for basketball and volleyball. | |
