 | You’ve probably heard of The Greenhouse Spa & Salon, one of the most recognized names in shoreside health resorts. That same recognition – that same quality, is at sea now, onboard every Holland America ship. Their “four touchstones” – Comfort, Pleasure, Strength and Rebirth are fully evident in the form of exotic skin and body treatment rooms; soaking tubs; massage, sauna and steam rooms; and facials, manicures and pedicures. And from most everywhere – views out to sea!

 | | Guests can purchase a huge array of treatments ranging from your standard back massage to a regiment that runs several hours. Prices run the gamut from $30 or $40 to $200 or more. “Day Passes” are available for almost unlimited use of the hydrotherapy pool and/or the heated ceramic loungers and aromatic steam room. Spoil yourself and give your body a vacation, too – the view out to sea from those relaxing ceramic loungers is unforgettable!

 | | The Gym is equipped with all the usual things that make fitness buffs buffer and the not-so-buff an audience: treadmills, step climbers, stationary bikes, free weights, and a full program of aerobics. Yoga, Pilates and Spinning classes are offered on most sailings, as well. Personal trainers are available. The full-service Beauty Salon is a busy venue, particularly on days at sea or when an upcoming “formal night” is scheduled.

 | The top-most deck is appropriately named “Sports Deck.” A Jogging Track encircles much of it. There are two Practice Tennis Courts up here, as well. Elsewhere on the ship are Ping Pong tables and the obligatory Shuffleboard. The wide, teak Promenade that encircles the ship on the Lower Promenade Deck serves as an excellent power walk or jogging track but is best used for those purposes early in the morning before the “deck chair potatoes” arrive! | |
