Centrum

A real trendsetter.
The Sovereign's Centrum really shook up the cruise industry. Royal Caribbean introduced the concept of an atrium on this ship, and clearly the idea caught on. Curving brass staircases connect each of the four balconies, so you can enjoy the view from a variety of perspectives. Bars, shops, and sitting area's surround the heart of the ship, and create the feeling that you're in a classy hotel lobby. A central sculpture titled Sands of Time resembles giant clockworks.

The Great White Ship:

Hard to believe in these days of 100,000-plus-ton ships, but when the Sovereign of the Seas was launched in 1988 it was the world’s largest cruise ship.

Purser's Desk

These are the people in your neighborhood who address any problems with your cruise experience. They are also ready, willing, and able to cash checks, mail postcards, or exchange currency.

Shore Excursion Desk

Although life aboard the Sovereign is pretty exciting, you should make the most out of every port. The shore excursion staff will help you find a trip to maximize your fun.

Boutiques of Centrum

They've thought of everything you forgot to pack.
Skylights and brass trim brighten up the shopping arcade's neutral décor. Subtle but classy, it resembles a high-end hotel mall. To those of you who consider shopping an art form - here's your museum. Accent your formal night attire with a necklace from the jewelry shop. Maybe you'd rather try out a fresh fragrance from the perfume store. Perhaps you even want to buy a whole new outfit at the fashion boutique. The beauty salon staff is ready to help enhance that Bahamian tan with sunny highlights. Supplies from extra towels to cigarettes are available at Fjords and the Sundries shop. A souvenir from the Gift or Logo shops will help remind you of your time in the islands when the trip is (sob) over.

Main Pools

Double your fun.
A trip to the Bahamas means a trip to the sunshine, and there's no better place to catch some rays than on the Sun Deck. Whether you'd rather lounge around in a deck chair with a magazine, or participate in the organized fun and games, the Sovereign's pool area will surely please you. After all, there's two of everything. The twin pools lie back to back, and a duo of whirlpools offer an extra level of relaxation. A band sends strains of island music into the air, and the cruise staff teaches new dance steps to interested passengers.

Library

A restful place.
Dark woods and over-stuffed leather furniture lend the air of a gentlemen's club to the Sovereign's library. Glass enclosed cases house a variety of books, but you don't have to read to partake of this well designed space. Enjoy a quiet conversation, or work on that cruise diary you've been meaning to write in. After hours, the room hosts a cigar and pipe smoking club.

Conference Room

The main conference facility doubles as a card room. The Sovereign also houses even alternate meeting areas. Audio-visual presentation equipment is available to suit your group's needs.

Photo Gallery

Professional photographers capture your magical moments. Enhance your cruise album with pictures by shipboard photographers.

Photo Shop

Can't wait to see those formal night pictures? You don't have to. Develop your film on-board, and enjoy your memories before the trip is even over.

Medical Center

The doctor is in, and ready to help with any medical problems that arise during your trip.
