With the introduction of the Century in late 1995, Celebrity made their
"niche" statement, and they made it clear - this cruise line was
going to do things differently. While maintaining a relatively mainstream
pricing strategy, the Century's design enabled Celebrity to expand and define
their emphasis on quality cuisine and passenger indulgence. Their decision
was brilliant - two more "Century-class" ships quickly followed,
each confirming that Celebrity's focus was on the mark.
Consider these Century delights:
- An elegant, two-tiered main dining room featuring menus prepared
under the direction of the acclaimed Master Chef Micheal Roux; even
the always-casual buffet offers exceptional cuisine!
- A health spa sanctuary featuring Egyptian ceremonies of milk
and ginger; exotic jasmine flower baths and heated, aromatic stone massages;
top-of-the line resistance and aerobic/cardio equipment
- The Celebrity "signature" Champagne and Martini bars.
There's even a top-of-the-atrium cigar bar with deep, leather chairs
and sofas. Shipboard bars perform well as pre- and post-dinner extensions
of the Century's dining experience.
- Contemporary "eclectic" décor. From glass-walled
Hemisphere Lounge high atop the ship to the dramatic, multi-tiered space
of the ship's main theater, the décor is fresh and contemporary
while maintaining a classic warmth and appeal
The Century pays close attention to the little touches that add up to making
a cruise very special - fresh flowers on every dining table, every night;
creative placement and lighting of artwork throughout the ship; a subtle
mix of distinctive décors - never the in-your-face "themes"
as seen on many cruise ships; and perhaps most important - an always attentive
yet never obtrusive staff. |
