PRINCESS - ISLAND PRINCESS: 15-Night "Hawaii" Roundtrip Los Angeles
Untitled Document

Like her sister ship the Coral Princess, the Island Princess marks a major shift in cruise ship design for this, the third largest cruise line in the world. In addition to the facilities and programs listed below, these ships incorporate an important, behind-the-scenes design change. Shifting some of the ship's propulsion power from below decks to the upper deck between those sleek gas turbines that straddle her funnels enabled Princess to relocate her galleys. This permitted designers to move the lower level cabins from the bow to a midship location making for a smoother ride.

As Princess' second entry into this new class of ships, the Island Princess shares some industry firsts that set these new ships apart from the pack:
  • Three main dining rooms for a more intimate dining experience
  • Four pools including the all-weather Calypso Pool; 9 whirlpools
  • Elegant, but human-scaled, three-level atrium
  • Three distinctive main show lounges
  • 706 cabins (55% of all cabins) feature balconies
  • Intimate Italian Trattoria and Southwestern-style restaurants
  • The luxurious, personal service of the Lotus Spa
  • A choice of traditional or flexible dining times
The Island Princess also offers a long list of Princess firsts, including a Cajun/Creole-style alternative restaurant, a retro piano bar, and three show lounges equipped with multi-screen video projection and revolving stages. This ship is high-tech all the way!
