PRINCESS - STAR PRINCESS: 14-Night "Cape Horn & Strait of Magellan" Valparaiso to Rio de Janeiro
Untitled Document
The Star Princess is the third in a series of highly successful ships from Princess Cruises. Like he sisters the Grand and the Golden, the Star Princess is a mega-liner who thinks she's a mini-liner. Despite the dimensions of a few public rooms (the giant Princess Theater, for instance, could hardly be described as "intimate") the Star almost pulls it off - a ship with big ship choices but a small ship feel. Look how hard she tries:
  • Three main dining rooms for a more intimate dining experience
  • Four pools including the all-weather Calypso Pool; 9 whirlpools
  • Elegant, but human-scaled, three-level atrium
  • Three distinctive main show lounges
  • 706 cabins (55% of all cabins) feature balconies
  • Intimate Italian Trattoria and Southwestern-style restaurants
  • The luxurious, personal service of the Lotus Spa
  • A choice of traditional or flexible dining times
Still, weighing in at just shy of 110,000 tons the Star is big. Distances from one end to another can be daunting when you gaze down one of her long corridors. And re-boarding lines, particularly at some ports, can seem endless. But just a few minutes in the Asian-themed Lotus Spa and all is forgiven!

  • Passengers who have trouble walking long distances
