Shore Excursions |
 | Less than $50.00 per person:
| |
 | Historic Charleston: An excellent overview, this narrated excursion focuses on the city's beautiful townhouses, mansions, churches, and educational institutions. Some tours also include a visit to Boone Plantation for a glimpse of the workings of an antebellum plantation.
| |
 | | Charleston on Foot: A guided, walking tour is probably the best way to sense what it was like living in 18th and 19th century Charleston (but they didn't have street vendors selling ice-cold lemonade as today's visitors do!) Wear comfortable shoes and definitely avoid high heels - the sidewalks are sometimes uneven, and the cobblestone streets are quaint but unkind to shoes and ankles!
| |
 | Charleston Carriage Ride: If you don't want to walk, get a horse! The focus of your horse drawn carriage ride is the waterfront neighborhood known as the "Battery," and the nearby French Quarter, once a notorious "Red Light District." (You just know your narrator guide will have fun with that!
| |
 | | Fort Sumter & Patriot's Point: Take a short bus ride and then transfer to a boat for the scenic run across the harbor to the man-made island on which Fort Sumter stands. There will be plenty of time to roam the fort before your return to the mainland. A tour variation also includes a stop at Patriot''s Point to view the Maritime Museum there.
| |
 | Over $100.00 per person:
| |
 | Golf: If you're a golfer, you've got to spend some time at one of the city's courses - they're world famous, they're challenging, and the views are unmatched. A number of courses front on the scenic Cooper or Ashley Rivers. | |
